Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-10-22. We keep this short because we collect very little.

Coop Criteria is an independent review site. For any privacy question or request, the contact page is the place to write.

What we collect

  • Nothing you type. The site has no accounts, no comment forms and no newsletter. Entries in our calculators and tools are processed in your browser and never transmitted to us.
  • No advertising cookies. The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies.
  • No analytics, today. We don't run analytics on this site. If we ever add any, it will be a self-hosted, cookieless tool that records anonymized page views only (page URL, referrer, coarse device type), and this policy will be updated before it goes live.
  • Server logs. The server this site runs on keeps standard access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) for security and error diagnosis, rotated on a short retention schedule. A click on an outbound shopping link passes through our own /go/… redirect page, so that hop appears in the same standard log line. Nothing beyond it is recorded, and logs are never used to build profiles.
  • Email you send us. If you write to the contact address, we receive your email address and your message. We use it only to reply — there is no mailing list to add you to.

Legal bases (GDPR)

For visitors from the EEA/UK: security logging is processed under legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — keeping the site fast, free and secure — with minimal, non-identifying data beyond the standard server log. That server is in the United States, and the log lines described above are the only place your visit leaves a trace.

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. EEA/UK residents: you may request access to or deletion of any personal data about you — because we hold none by design, most requests will conclude with that confirmation. Contact us at the contact page.

Third-party links

Guides link to retailers and manufacturers. Those sites have their own privacy practices, including affiliate tracking cookies once our affiliate links are active. We do not receive your browsing data from them — and if affiliate programs go active, the only thing they would ever share with us is anonymous commission reports.

Children

The site is directed at adults and is not directed to children under 13 (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If analytics or advertising practices change, this policy is updated before they go live and any required consent notice is added. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date.
