By using Coop Criteria (the "Site") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Informational content — not professional advice

Everything on the Site is general information about backyard chicken keeping and related products. It is not veterinary, legal or safety advice. Animal health questions belong with a poultry veterinarian; local rules on keeping poultry are set by your city or county — check your local ordinances before buying or building.

3. Tools and calculators are estimates

The Site's calculators and charts (coop sizing, brooder temperature, feed cost, flock economics and others) produce estimates from the numbers you enter and published space and husbandry standards. They are planning aids, not engineering, veterinary or safety advice, and real animals, buildings and climates vary. Your entries stay in your browser and are never transmitted to us. Verify equipment sizing against the manufacturer's specifications before you buy.

4. Accuracy and availability

We work hard to keep guides current, but specifications, prices and availability change without notice. Always verify details with the manufacturer or retailer before purchasing. The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. Affiliate relationships

Guides link to manufacturers, retailers, universities and keeper communities. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, prices or privacy practices. A link is a citation or a shopping path, not an endorsement of everything the destination publishes.

Original text, tables, datasets and tools on the Site are © 2026–present Coop Criteria. You may quote short excerpts with a visible link back; wholesale republication requires written permission. Product names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners.
